MSNBC - Prescription use down when co-payments rise
MSNBC - Prescription use down when co-payments rise
Can't wait to go to the emergency room because of asthma. Hurray for rising costs and a health care system based on profit, not on treatment.
"Spending on outpatient prescription drugs, along with hospital and doctor costs, is rising at several times the rate of inflation."
OK, so that's why my daily antihistamine went from $0.33/day in 2003 to $2.00+/day in 2004. Free markets rule!
“Raising co-payments is a blunt tool for changing people’s use of prescription medicine.”
Yes, as in -- those with chronic conditions brought on by environmental factors are bluntly told: We don't care about you.
"The study showed evidence that higher co-payments lead to increased emergency room visits and hospital stays for conditions like diabetes and asthma, the study said.
“Our findings raise concern that co-payment increases could lead to adverse health consequences, at least for individuals with some conditions,” the authors said."

my rate plan likes me
So, trying to save money late on a Saturday night. No, not a bad date, just a misleading ad from sbc.com/bundle gets me thinking that I can get all my connections for $90/month.
So, I end up on myrateplan.com ... which uses wkyc.com (the site I like to think I run) in a self-promotion! "A service that cuts through all the nonsense" they quote my hastily-posted article from 2003. Hilarious. If memory serves, I borrowed the gist of their recommendation from Newsweek.
OK, enough self-references.
