Sorry to spam everyone, but I’ve got to compare my Facebook RSS feeds to the ones I’ve set up for other WKYC Facebook users, like Tom Beres

Firefox tip: Multiple homepages
This isn’t news to regular Firefox users, but you can set multiple start pages / homepage within Firefox by using one of the most-powerful yet least-used keys, the pipe: “|”.
Go to: “Tools” –> “Options” and in the “Main” tab, next to “Home page:” type:
http://www.wkyc.com/ | http://cleveland.metromix.com | http://cleveland.momslikeme.com/ | http://www.highschoolsports.net
I guess you could type other pages in between the pipe. I don’t know why you would want to, though.
You can do something similar in IE7, too.

Online backup using Amazon’s S3
I’ve been taking alot of photos with my new Sony camera (DSC-W100) and had the thought Saturday: What happens if the hard drive on my six-year-old computer dies?
Like normal people, I haven’t backed up my important data for a long time.
As I type, I’m attempting to use Amazon’s S3 storage to backup my photos and videos. I currently have about 3 GB of photos, and Amazon tells me this will cost $5.40 per year to back up. That’s much cheaper than Flickr’s $25 per year and amazingly cheaper than purchasing a hard drive or setting up a personal server to run at home.
I’m using Jungle Disk to manage sending my photos (and, eventually, important files) to Amazon on a regular basis.

netvibes = great start-up page
I’ve been using netvibes.com for about four months and I can’t see browsing the Internet without its functionality.
It’s fast, easy to use and speeds up my web consumption dramatically.
For some reason, I can’t stomach using Yahoo’s feed reader and although I have more feeds loaded up in SharpReader, it’s far easier to just visit netvibes and catch up on the few sites that I really care about.
Thanks to TechCrunch for cluing me into netvibes. TechCruch’s ‘Companies I couldn’t live without.

And the best Widget award goes to …
John Sully for creating a Yahoo Widget that displays WKYC headlines.
In addition to promoting Cleveland’s online video news leader, John was also IT employee of the month at Case Western.
Props, John
